JULIE BERGAN ABRAHAM
Owner & Instructor
Julie holds a B.A. in English, speech, and theatre from Augustana University and an M.A. in English composition from SDSU. An active coach and adjudicator for area one-act plays and speech events, Julie loves coffee, chocolate, and craft projects. She and her husband Ross have two children, Lucas and Eleanor. After 28 years inspiring her students to excel in the classroom and on the stage, Julie is thrilled to be a member of Spotlight Theatre Studio, working with young people who love to perform!
LAURA HUMMEL
Instructor
An experienced musician and educator, Laura earned her degree at Northern State University and has spent the last 27 years honing students’ musical and theatrical skills, along with coaching and judging oral interpretation and one-act plays. She and her husband Kelly are the proud parents of Matt, Alex, Ben, and Will, and at least half a dozen foreign exchange students. Laura loves animals, soccer, and biology, but her true passion lies in bringing people together through the performing arts.
ELLIE LIVINGSTON
Instructor
Ellie has her B.F.A. in acting from the University of South Dakota. Ellie spent 12 years acting, directing, and choreographing with professional theatre companies around the country. Her last studio, Ellie Alayne Arts was the first of its kind in Brookings. She is excited for this new adventure with talented partners and educators. Ellie has two young daughters, Cora Jane and Penelope. She and her husband Mike are the owners of Josie Mae Boutique.
